The television anime adaptation of Koori no Jyōheki (The Ramparts of Ice or Ice Castle Wall), a manga by Kōcha Agasawa, was revealed by Shueisha on Friday.
From January 2020 until April 2022, the manga was first published as a webtoon on the LINE Manga app. On February 4, Shueisha will release the manga's fourteenth and last collected volume, which has been restructured for volume format.
Plot of the Story:
Inept at dealing with people, Koyuki Higawa maintains a wall between herself and others. She spends her time in high school away from others, all alone. At least until she encounters Minato Amamiya who keeps closing the distance between them for some reason. The aloof Koyuki, the popular Miki, the boundary-less Minato, and the easygoing and kind basketball team member Youta. This is the story of these somewhat complicated four and their tantalizing, bumbling youth.
In December 2023, the manga was nominated for the 69th Shogakukan Manga Awards and placed #15 for male readers in Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook for 2024. In May, the manga won second place in the second Rakuten Kobo E-book Awards' "Vertical Scroll Comic" category. In 2023, the manga also came in at number two on AnimeJapan's sixth "Most Wanted Anime Adaptation" survey.
A television anime adaptation of Agasawa's You and I Are Polar Opposites manga is also in the works and will debut in January 2026 from the studio Lapin Track. In May 2022, Agasawa released the manga on Shonen Jump+. The manga is published digitally in English by MANGA Plus. The series is also published in English by Viz Media.
