New updates on the second season of Tokyo Mew Mew

The official Twitter account for Tokyo Mew Mew New, the all-new anime of Reiko Yoshida and Mia Ikumi's Tokyo Mew Mew manga, revealed on Tuesday that Saki Nakajima, who played protagonist Ichigo Momomiya in the original Tokyo Mew Mew anime, is voicing Ichigo's mother in the new anime. Satoshi Hino is playing Ichigo's father. 

The anime's official website also streamed the creditless versions of the new opening theme song "Megamorphose" and ending theme song "Can-do Dreamer" by the five main cast members' unit Smewthie. 

The anime premiered on Tuesday on TV Tokyo and its affiliates. HIDIVE is streaming the anime as it airs.

The first season premiered in July 2022. HIDIVE streamed the series as it aired.

The anime follows Ichigo Momomiya, a girl who transforms into Mew Ichigo (Strawberry) with the power of the Iriomote leopard cat to save Earth from parasitic Chimera Anima aliens.

The five main cast members formed a unit named Smewthie, and their first single digitally launched in March 2021.
