The official website for Toei Animation's original anime Girls Band Cry began streaming two new music videos, and also unveiled the key visual, main cast and staff for the anime on Monday. The two new music videos showcase the songs "Na mo Naki Nanimo Kamo," in first video below and "Itsuwari no Kotowari," second video below. from the project's in-story band Togenashi Togeari.
The cast members include:
Rina as Nina Iseri, an introverted girl who is good at blending in
Yuri as Momoka Kawaragi, a free-spirited 20-year-old street musician
Mirei as Subaru Awa, a mature and strong-willed performing arts student
Natsu as Tomo Ebizuka, an heiress to a rich family, but now on her own in a shared apartment
Syuri as Rupa, born to a South Asian father and Japanese mother, and a gifted performer
Kazuo Sakai is directing the anime at Toei Animation. Nari Teshima is designing the characters. Mari Kondō and Jae Hoon Jung are the CGI directors. Kenji Tamai is composing the music.
Plot: The main character drops out of high school in her second year, and aims at entering a university while working alone in Tokyo. A girl is betrayed by her friends and doesn't know what to do. Another girl is abandoned by her parents, and tries to survive in the city by doing part-time jobs. This world lets us down all the time. Nothing goes as planned. But we want something that we can continue to like. We believe there's a place where we belong. That's why we sing.
