On Thursday, CyberAgent declared that it is creating a television anime in 2026 based on Shinya Misu's manga Osananajimi to wa LoveCom ni Naranai (I'll Never Have a Romantic Comedy with My Childhood Friend). The project is being animated by Tezuka Productions. Additionally, CyberAgent released a teaser promotional film with live-action footage and a teaser image.
Plot of the story:
High schooler Eiyuu has a dilemma—his two childhood friends, Shio and Akari, have grown up to be almost too cute! Even though they don't seem to think much of it, he can't help but see them in a different light. If they ever realized how his feelings had changed, the embarrassment would be overwhelming! However, what Eiyuu doesn't know is that Shio and Akari might have feelings of their own. A slow-burning love triangle where all the heroines are childhood friends—one that's as frustrating as it is irresistible!
In March 2022, Misu published the manga on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket website. The fourteenth volume of the manga's compilation book was released by Kodansha on February 7; the fifteenth volume will follow on April 9.
