The second television anime season, which is based on the light novel series Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World (Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjō, Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen) by Kei Sazane and Ao Nekonabe, will resume broadcasting on April 10th, Kadokawa said on Friday. In August 2024, the anime indefinitely postponed installments starting with its fifth episode "to maintain the quality" of the release.
On April 10, AT-X, Tokyo MX, and BS11 will resume showing the anime from its first episode, and on April 12, ABC TV will do the same. Additionally, it will start streaming on the d Anime Store on April 10 and on other Japanese streaming platforms on April 15.
On July 10 of last year, the animation debuted on Tokyo MX, ABC TV, BS11, AT-X, and d-animation Store. Originally scheduled to premiere in 2023, the anime was postponed until July 2024. The new season is available for viewing on Crunchyroll, along with an English dub.
The new season at Studio Palette and SILVER LINK is directed by Yuki Inaba. The series composition is also under the control of Studio Palette. The characters are being designed by Kaori Yoshikawa. Bit Grooove Promotion's sound director is Yukio Nagasaki. The music is being composed by Elements Garden. The music is produced by Pony Canyon.
The opening theme music of the anime, "Senaka Awase" (Back to Back), is performed by AliA, while the closing theme song, "Para Bellum" (Prepare for War), is performed by Sizuk.
The first animation at SILVER LINK was directed by both Shin Oonuma and Mirai Minato. The person in charge of series writing was Kento Shimoyama. Character design and principal animation director Kaori Satō were both given credit.
Plot of the story:
A force known as Astral power permeates throughout the world, wielded by astral mages. Fearing its destructive power, the "Empire" persecutes those who show their abilities. The tormented mages then founded the Nebulis Sovereignty to flee from their oppressors. Since then, the two nations have been in bitter conflict, the war still going strong for more than a century. After committing the great crime of freeing an imprisoned witch, the talented knight Iska is sentenced to prison. A year later, the Empire leadership suddenly decides to set him free, with the condition that he hunts down a fearsome mage known as the "Ice Calamity Witch." Hoping to end the war, Iska agrees. Coincidentally, the Ice Calamity Witch herself, Aliceliese "Alice" Lou Nebulis XI, also wishes for peace and is willing to do everything she can to bring down the Empire. As Iska and Alice both yearn for a crusade that will turn the world into one without struggle, woe, or pain, the strings of fate tie them ever closer together, creating a bond that goes beyond something fabricated by mere coincidence.
