A major image and teaser promotional video for the Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season anime were shown on Sunday at the AnimeJapan 2024 stage event. The primary cast and crew are confirmed, and it is also confirmed that the anime is "launching" this year with the Orokamonogatari stories in the teaser.
The anime is directed by Midori Yoshizawa, while franchise veteran Akiyuki Simbo is in charge of main direction. With Simbo and Miku Ooshima penning the screenplays, Fuyashi Tou is back to supervise the series scripts. Along with Nobuhiro Sugiyama and Kana Miyai, Akio Watanabe is back as chief animator and character designer. The soundtrack is once again composed by Satoru Kōsaki.

The two-volume Bakemonogatari tale, which launched NisiOisin's novel series in 2006, provided the framework for the first novel adaption to be adapted into an anime in 2009. The "final season" of the novel series concluded in September 2014 with Zoku Owarimonogatari, however it included a teaser for "Monogatari Series, Next Season Tsugimonogatari."
Orokamonogatari, Wazamonogatari, Nademonogatari, and Musubimonogatari are the four "Off Season" books that were released in October 2015, January 2016, July 2016, and January 2017 in that order. A sequence of short stories set at various stages within the series are told in the novels.
The Shinobumonogatari novel marked the beginning of the novel series' "Monster Season" in July 2017. Yoimonogatari, Amarimonogatari, Ōgimonogatari, and the two-volume Shinomonogatari novel, which delivered in August 2021, are among the other novels in the season. The series is continued in the books, which are set in a college.
