Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom (Gekijō-ban Overlord Sei Ōkoku-hen), the next film project for the Overlord anime, has a new teaser presented by Kadokawa on Sunday. In addition to revealing that the movie would have IMAX screenings starting one week early on September 13, the teaser also indicates that the movie will debut in Japan on September 20 with regular screenings. The theme music for the movie, "WHEELER-DEALER" by OxT, is also revealed and included in the trailer.
Kadokawa also unveiled two new visuals for the film. The first visual below is for the regular screening, while the second visual, drawn by the original light novel illustrator so-bin, is for the IMAX screening.
Crunchyroll will screen the film in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
The four new cast members for the film include:
Yoshino Aoyama as Neia Baraja
Hitomi Nabatame as Remedios Custodio
Saori Hayami as Calca Bessarez
Haruka Tomatsu as Kelart Custodio
In addition to serving as the film's director, Naoyuki Itou is returning to Madhouse to write the story and compose it. Yukie Sugawara, who co-wrote the script, is making a comeback in the movie. As chief animator and character designer, Satoshi Tasaki is also coming back. Sound director Fumiyuki Go is back at Bit Groove Promotion. Music at Kadokawa will once again be composed by Team-MAX's Shūji Katayama. The movie will be distributed by Kadokawa Animation.
Demiurge, played by Masayuki Katō, and Ains, played by Satoshi Hino and Yumi Hara, are among the returning cast members.
In July 2015, the 13-episode television anime series Overlord made its debut in Japan. As the anime series aired in Japan, Funimation streamed it live. In November 2016, the company published the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD with an English dub. January 2018 marked the debut of the second anime series, which ran until April 2018. The second season was streamed live on Crunchyroll, while an English version was streamed on Funimation. In July 2018, the third anime series made its debut. As the anime aired, Crunchyroll streamed it, and Funimation streamed an English version once again. In July 2022, the anime's fourth season debuted. Crunchyroll provided both the English dub and the animation when it aired in Japan.
Plot of the Story:
The Sacred Kingdom has enjoyed a great many years without war thanks to a colossal wall constructed after a historic tragedy. They understand best how fragile peace can be. When the terrible demon Jaldabaoth takes to the field at the head of a united army of monstrous tribes, the Sacred Kingdom's leaders know their defenses are not enough. With the very existence of the country at stake, the pious have no choice but to seek help wherever they can get it, even if it means breaking taboo and parlaying with the undead king of the Nation of Darkness!
